MinebeaMitsumi MMS701 is an infrared sensor based on MEMS thermopile technology. It measures the surface temperature of objects without physical contact by detecting the infrared radiation they emit. The sensor provides a digital output representing the object’s surface temperature. It can also measure its own internal temperature. Communication is handled via an I²C interface.
MMS701 features :
- Low noise level
Noise-Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD): below 0.06℃ - Temperature value directly available
Digital output of temperature values compensated for ambient temperature, enabling rapid and easy application development - Easy to mount using a connector
No need to design and prepare a dedicated board. Other electrical connection possible (ex. pin header) - MMS701L11A is also available in a low temperature compatible version
Good temperature accuracy even at in sub-zero temperatures. - For reference, +/-2.0℃ at -10℃
MMS701 applications:
- Home electric appliances (air conditioner, microwave oven, etc.)
- Detection of human face temperature
- Other contactless temperature monitoring
