Designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, MinebeaMitsumi ICs provide comprehensive protection for rechargeable Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. They protect against overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent during charging and discharging, as well as short circuits. They integrate four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic circuits to ensure reliable and efficient battery protection. The MM415x series are protection ICs featuring thermal protection and a control terminal for managing charge and discharge off modes in rechargeable lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. By using an external thermistor, the IC protects the battery pack and system against overheating. Additionally, it reduces system current consumption by enabling charge and discharge off modes when the system is shut down.
