Designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, MinebeaMitsumi ICs provide comprehensive protection for rechargeable Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. They protect against overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent during charging and discharging, as well as short circuits. They integrate four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic circuits to ensure reliable and efficient battery protection. The MM414x series are Li-ion battery protection ICs that accurately detect charge and discharge currents using a current-sensing resistor (Rsns). They incorporate a two-step discharge overcurrent detection mechanism, providing reliable protection in both normal discharge mode and high-current discharge mode.
