MinebeaMitsumi offers a wide range of battery ICs, supporting configurations from single-cell to multi-cell battery packs. Designed with high detection accuracy and rich functionality, these battery ICs ensure safe charging and reliable protection of rechargeable batteries. Designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, MinebeaMitsumi ICs provide comprehensive protection for rechargeable Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. They protect against overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent during charging and discharging, as well as short circuits. They integrate four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic circuits to ensure reliable and efficient battery protection. The MM3746 series are protection ICs equipped with a charge pump and capable of driving high-side N-channel FETs for secondary Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. These ICs are particularly well-suited for smart battery packs that require communication between the battery pack and the host system. The MM3746 series also features temperature detection using an NTC thermistor, providing protection for both the battery pack and the system against overheating.
