Designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, MinebeaMitsumi ICs provide comprehensive protection for rechargeable Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. They protect against overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent during charging and discharging, as well as short circuits. They integrate four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic circuits to ensure reliable and efficient battery protection. TheMM3694 series are protection ICs manufactured using a high-voltage CMOS process. They are designed to provide overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, and temperature protection for rechargeable lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. These ICs can detect overvoltage, undervoltage, discharge overcurrent, charge overcurrent, and abnormal temperature conditions in 3- to 5-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery packs. The internal circuitry includes a voltage detector, a reference voltage source, a delay timer control circuit, and logic components, among others.
MM3694 features :
- Range and accuracy of detection/release voltage
- Range of detection delay time
- Protection configuration for 3-cell, 4-cell, or 5-cell battery packs selected using the SEL1 and SEL2 pins.
- 0V battery charging function selectable "Allow" or "Prohibit"
- Built-in energy-saving mode
- Low consumption through intermittent operation of both the regulator's temperature detection and the temperature sensor
- Low current consumption
