Designed using a high-voltage CMOS process, MinebeaMitsumi ICs provide comprehensive protection for rechargeable Lithium-ion and Lithium-polymer batteries. They protect against overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent during charging and discharging, as well as short circuits. They integrate four voltage detectors, a short-circuit detection circuit, reference voltage sources, an oscillator, a counter circuit, and logic circuits to ensure reliable and efficient battery protection. The MM3508C series are dual protection ICs designed for 2 to 3 cells lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery packs, providing secondary protection. They detect overcharge voltage for each cell with high accuracy. The CT terminal is used to control the output voltage at the OV terminal.
