Token Electronics DOE series is commonly used as a dynamic braking resistor in transportation applications. Designed to operate in harsh environments, these resistors feature corrosion-resistant stainless-steel insulator supports, solid nickel terminals, and electroless nickel-plated solid copper terminal supports. The resistive element is made from a stainless steel resistance alloy. Terminals are either welded or silver-brazed to the oval, spiral, edge-wound resistive coil. Toothed ceramic insulators separate the resistive element from the central support, while ceramic end bushings insulate the central support from the mounting structure. Terminal blocks, thermal switches, conduit knockouts, fusing, and fans are available as options.
